The Gallery, Level 2: Abstraction
210 x 510mm
Three blocks
£325
Imagine a huge white modern gallery wall on which has been painted this large mural. Within this hang five large black and white prints. We know we are on Level 2, as it is showing next to the lift door.

Four Square
150 x 150mm
£195
Just one block. This was also the original block for creating the print Four Quartets.
28
The Challenge of Chance
75 x 100mm
Two blocks
£125
The title comes from a book by Arthur Koestler. The base black block was completely improvised with no pre-planning. My attempt to find an equivalent for improvised jazz. The second colour laid a structure on this free cutting.

Time-travelling tractor witnesses birth of brand OXO
500 x 180mm
One block and a plate
£150
I like ‘folk art’. And I love Victorian woodtype posters. I adapted the man and cow from a painting in Compton Verney. How many OXO’s can you find?

Transform

“May the long time sun shine upon you, all love surround you and the pure light within you, guide you all the way on.”

Triple Quay
450 x 200mm
One block, reduction print
£325
The dotted line is done by stippling with a fine scorper to give the ‘chalk’ effect.
33
Twelve
340 x 330mm
Twelve blocks
£325
This is a version of Twelve with added blind embossing. It follows a number of purely blind embossed abstract prints and I thought it interesting to combine this with black printing.
34
Way Out West
405 x 250mm
Two blocks
NFS
For once, ‘west’ is not Cornwall but California. A dead straight road extends up to the ocean, crossed by intersections. The idea came as we travelled a typical road in Los Angeles. “My idea of a sculpture is a road” said Carl André.

Dark Matter
